Rain gutters usually go unnoticed, however they actually perform one of the most important functions in your house: They direct water away from your home. Leaving water untreated can cause mold which will result in health issues, it will also cause structural damage to your house. Having a good working rain gutter system will also prevent damage to your home’s roof, foundation, driveway and sidewalks.

Most Common Rain Gutter Problems

-Clogged Rain Gutters: Lack of maintenance is one of the top reasons why rain gutters get clogged. Maintaining your rain gutters and downspouts clean and free of debris (like tree leaves) is crucial for them to work properly. It is recommended to clean your rain gutters at least during the Spring and Fall. If you live in an area that experiences heavy rain or have a lot of trees nearby is recommended to do this chore more often. If unable to do it yourself it's definitely safer to call a professional.

Not Having Rain Gutters

So let’s assume you are a new home owner, most of the time we pay attention to the landscape, how many rooms our new home has, how big our new kitchen is, without realizing how important is to have a good rain gutter system. Remember, your roof and your rain gutter system are the first line of defense for you and your loved ones. Strongly recommend getting a gutter system installed by an expert if you don’t already have one.

Pest Problems Due to Clogged and Damaged Gutters:

Having your rain gutters clogged with leaves and other debris is an open invitation to be a great host of pests. When water is not being directed away from your home cracks and holes in your foundation and walls will happen, giving a free entrance ticket to birds, mice and even squirrels.

Keep in mind that cheaper is not always good. Having a professional install your rain gutter system will give you peace of mind in the long run! Want to learn more? Contact us for a free estimate!
